Awesome April in Room 1

We had a truly awesome month in Room 1. It was a very busy return to school from Spring Break, however, between all the fun, games and learning, we really had a blast.

Our Aistear theme this month was the Airport and the boys and girls had great fun being pilots, passengers, air hosts and security guards. Have a look at what we got up to during playtime.

We have continued our literacy stations and have had great fun with practicing our handwriting, blending and even doing some shared writing. Have a look at the different ways we have practiced writing our letters.

For Maths, we explored shape as well as combining and partitioning within 5. Our Maths stations were busy but of course, as playful as ever.

Our favourite week of all, however, had to be Well-Being Week. During this week, we made sure to set aside time to engage in well-being and mindfulness activities every day. One of our favourite activities would have to be the Well-Being Walk. The boys and girls made some woolly friends along the way and even managed to say hi to them up close! The Junior Infants also really enjoyed the Where’s Wally Hunt. While Wally picked some amazing hiding spots, he could not outsmart the Junior Infants and they managed to find him every single time.

The boys and girls really had an amazing April and we are so proud of everything that they have achieved this month. Watch this space for more updates on Room 1- I am excited to see what the last few months have in store for Junior Infants.
