After a long-awaited two years, Book Week could finally take place in Scoil Chormaic once again and we sure were glad to have it back. Between library visits, trips to Eason’s, the book fair, a dress-up day and, of course, plenty of reading, our school activities were back in full swing and we could not have been more excited about it.

Junior Classes journeyed over to Eason’s, browsed through the collection of books and picked one to each bring home. For Junior and Senior Infants, it was their first time ever going on a school trip and we are very proud of how they represented the school. Well done everyone!

Senior Classes visited Balbriggan library. Here they received a tour of the library, browsed through books and engaged in some quiet reading. A special thanks to Balbriggan library for allowing the school to visit, it certainly was an interesting and valuable experience.

The newly-established Student Council also tried their hand at organising events for Book Week. They set-up a special day to dress-up as book characters, carried out a school-wide book swap and ran a book-mark competition. These events were very successful and well-received by pupils and teachers alike. We are very proud of the Student Council and are excited to see what else they have in store for us!

Plenty of other activities also took place between quizzes, the Book Fair, Principal Story-teller and most importantly, plenty of reading! Here is a final glimpse on some of the amazing work that took place during Book Week.
